Occasionally, you make a record that outlines for you where you need to improve in order to properly finish it. This was one of those. I practiced for weeks to improve my singing because my vocals were rough in the scratch takes.
Big, secretly ambitious (in the way that many collaborations with Matt are). We started this thinking we’d just knock out a follow-up to Lost in the Walled City, and naturally, it descended into perfectionism. It is a GOOD record. There are knots naturally and the end implies more of a “petering out” than a collapse, but Ripped & Dumb, along with Eschaton, are two of the best songs Arthhur ever released into space.
