Fox Family Energy
There’s a lot in this one that’s informed by a kind of humor unique to the Fox family and particularly in the Fox Family kids. Comic Bravado, absurdity, outlandish disgust and bad ends etc. etc. All subsequent Arthhur releases carry some of that energy as a result. Shadows of Pink Flamingos I suppose.
James Chance
Almost got James Chance (RIP) to record saxophone for this, but we couldn’t make the recording schedule work. Subsequently, I’ve had a few people mention there should have been a saxophone on the title track. missed opportunities.
Vocals
I was jacked up on caffeine when we went to record the vocals. Really happy with the performance in retrospect though. I think Matt was a bit put off by the vocal takes, but Luke was really encouraging about them.
