Like if The Beatles got really into 90’s REM, and very gentle 80’s ambient music. This is my fav. Jon writes some of my favorite music and it was always very inspiring to hear him play while we lived together.
I love the general themes and angle of the thing.
There’s a ton of detail in these mixes and I think it’s a pretty unique and fun “sound”. Happy to have people come back to me a year or so after the fact and say “I was listening to this again and thought it was so good.”

This is a really, really great record. Perfect accompaniment to a coffee and a candy bar. I once had a weird dream where Workbook-era Bob Mould formed a band with the Barenaked Ladies, and I think they sounded something like this. There might have also been some members from Steely Dan and XTC involved... good stuff!
